History of Our Club
WHO ARE WE … AND WHAT DO WE OFFER … ???
The ROCKCUT SHOOTING CLUB and its predecessors have been operating in and around the North Bay area for some 65 years !
Our current location was founded in 2000.
We offer regulation trap and skeet shooting, complemented with a “wobble” trap and 5-stand sporting clay facilities, all of which are wheel-chair accessible. We now have one skeet field with lights so we can now offer night time shooting. There is a 100 yard rifle range and 25 yard “open-air” handgun range. The handgun range has a covered firing point shelter. We also have a new range shelter over the rifle range benches. In September of 2014 we opened our new 25 meter action range followed in 2015 with a second 25 meter action range. Our modern club-house features spacious meeting facilities, a furnished kitchen, “in-door plumbing”, hot and cold running water. During “daylight-saving time” we normally shoot shotgun sports all day Sunday and Wednesday evenings. In the winter, we shoot shotgun only on Sundays. However, members of good standing can access the facilities at any time for pistol and rifle shooting.
In addition, we offer regulation skeet shooting, advertised skeet tournaments, amateur shoots and many variations of “fun” shoots.
Guests (shooters and / or spectators) are always welcome! IPSC handgun shooting and other disciplines are also available.
Thank you for visiting our evolving Internet site. As an up-to-date Club, we want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our club and our offers. A new content management system will enable us to always keep you up to date. At present, our web site is still under constant development.
If you are not familiar with our club and your first contact with us is online: We would be pleased to hear from you! Please let us know what your needs and questions are, we will be more than happy to help.
In brief, you should know the following about us: our club was established in 2000 and we have been responsible for providing outstanding shooting facilities ever since. Our specialty is in the area of trap and skeet. Our regular members particularly value our two skeet and one trap field. We are developing our rifle and pistol ranges with a comfortable range shelter built and more underway. Action shooting sports are finding a home at the Rockcut with an IPSC section formed in 2015 and several matches held here.
